The concert was broadcast worldwide on Rai1 at noon on Sunday, December 21st following the Angelus of Pope Francis. Hosted by Francesco Fialdini.

The concert was directed by Maestro Basso with singing by Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble. The artists played famous Christmas songs and international classics. The “2014 Christmas Concert” included 55 minutes of incredible music and took place in the Senate Chamber at Palazzo Madama. Accompanied by the Regional Orchestra Filarmonia Veneta and conducted by Maestro Diego Basso, the concert also included a performance by the “Piccolo Coro delle Mani Bianche” from the 173rd school district in Rome. The children in the chorus have hearing disabilities and so interpret the music through hand gestures.

A program of 14 songs was prepared for the concert, including masterpieces by Il Volo, the song "Memory" from the musical Cats, the "O Sole mio" tribute to President Napolitano's homeland, and American Christmas classics such as "When Christmas Comes to Town".
